To commence my research, I looked up the etymology of Guitar and followed its course. Etymology, normally, is defined as the study of words, and how it developed through the course of time. Now when we look at the word guitar, three words pop out. The Kithara-, which is an ancient Greek instrument. Guitarra, from Spanish and Arabic origin. Lastly, we have cithara form Latin America. Following the etymology, we can backtrack the path of the guitar.
